Hongkong Itinerary (3days, 2nights)

Thanks to my friend Lhea Venice, my travel guide, for making me itinerary for my Hongkong trip this October 2011. The itinerary is good for 3 days and 2 nights inclusive of the arrival and departure to/from Hongkong.

3 days, 2 nights (Ex. Oct 31 – November 2)

October 31, 12:40 – Arrival in Hongkong International Airport

From the Airport to Dragon HostelGo directly to the Immigration Officer and have your passports stamped. After that, exit out of the airport using the stairs going to the Exit. (Look for Exit signs)

Across the street, you would see a CityFlyer Bus Liner with A21/N21 on its sign. To go to Dragon Hostel, you must ride the N21 bus. (Picture of the bus is on one of the screenshots).

The fare costs HKD33. Remember, that when you exchange your PHP money to HKD, you ask for 5, 20, 50 bills because the bus drivers don’t give change. So if you give HKD100, don’t expect any change from them. J

The bus ride will take around 30-45 min. You can inform the bus driver to drop you at theMongkok station or you can sit at the left side of the bus and be attentive of the stations you pass by. Refer to the Dragon Hostel map for instructions. Dragon Hostel is at the 7th floor of the Sincere House. In front of it, you will see the 7 Eleven store.

Note:

Malls/Tourist Destinations opens at 10AM and closes at 12MN.

MTR closes at 12MN

Sunset is at 7pm

When shopping, always haggle 50% – 80% of the price.

Buy your tickets for NP360, Disneyland, The Peak and Ocean Park at the front desk of Dragon Hostel because it’s much cheaper. J

Cheap water/coke at Bonjour stores. Coke is at HKD5 and water is at HKD5

Always follow/look for MTR Exit signs so you won’t get lost.

No Drinking/Eating inside MTR stations

Don’t forget to get ref magnets as souvenir (for each destination)

There are only 2 elevators in Dragon Hostel. If you’re facing the elevator, the left elevator is for the EVEN floor # and the right one is for the ODD floor #. Dragon Hostel is at the ODD elevator. J

Day 3 Tour, November 2

Depends on what time you will be leaving for HK. If your plane trip is at 8am, board the A21 bus along Nathan Road near HSBC (see the Dragon Hostel map for more info).

The trip takes 1 hour so if you don’t want to be late for boarding, it’s better to board the bus at5am or 6 am. Fare is at HKD33. (I’m not sure though what time is the 1st trip for the A21 bus).

If you have all day, you can go to Time Square Mall or just roam around Mongkok area and take last minute pictures.

If you want to buy cheap pasalubong, there’s one at The Peak.

Also, here are some things/reminders you need to prepare before going out of the country:

  1. Passport
  2. Company ID
  3. Print out of travel and Return Ticket (make 2 copies)
  4. Print out of the confirmation email from the hostel (ex. Dragon Hostel)
  5. Terminal Fee (PHP550 if in Cebu, 700 if in Manila)
  6. International Tax PHP1650 (both for Cebu and Manila)
  7. Fill up the travel card form that will be given to you after you get your boarding tickets from Cebu Pac
    1. Make sure to indicate the address of the hostel you will be staying when you’re inHongkong
  8. The Immigration Officers are quite strict, so you should prepare items in 1,2,3,4 and 7.
  9. Money in any currency should not be more than 10,000.
  10. Bring food for breakfast (noodles, biscuits, coffee). Dragon hostel has free hot/cold water as well microwave oven and refrigerator.
