My friends, my partner and I went to Gaisano City to watch the high rated movie Prince of Persia. We decided to watch in Gaisano City as it was closer to my place (lapasan) and accessible to my friend’s place. My inner peace was not yet disturbed, as I rarely unleashed the demons in me, until my friend’s bag was checked and I was not!. The problem was not that I wasn’t checked and my friend did but because of our laptops. The guard and the lady behind the box told my friend to check in our laptops. We insisted of course as we heard stories of stolen things when left in the baggage area (not that it happen in Gaisano but being cautious is better than being sorry after any mishap). The lady behind the box convinced as that it was a locker and safer. Then the guard asked me if I have a laptop in me and I said Yes!. The guard said that I might as well check in my laptop. I was quite annoyed with it because I have been to Limketkai and other malls in Cagayan de Oro City they would never suggest to leave my laptop in their baggage area (or maybe they don’t have lockers). I got annoyed for the reason that I did not get the sense out of it. What can laptop do inside the theater? Copy the movie? For heaven’s sake, wouldn’t it be more obvious to use laptop? I was so annoyed I brought it to the guy in-charge of the locker. I shouldn’t have done that but it seems like it was not right. Good thing though amidst every sarcastic words I said the Gaisano staff remain calm literally. Well, after those words said… I just laugh at what I did. But my point here was just I couldn’t get it why laptops had to be check-in or not be brought inside the theater. Why? I haven’t had the chance to asked them. They only said that it was a Managements’ directive and they are just following orders (that reason does not convince me).
Even though I got annoyed at it, I still enjoyed the movie. But will probably watch in Limketkai when I have my laptop in me.

Well you can do nothing about it if it’s company directive…but you can always give constructive criticism. Friendly suggestions? Nice piece.
