Mindanao Food Apprentice Tour and Soccsksargen Summer Safari

CDOBloggers and I assembled in C7 for our Davao -GensanTrip. We were invited by Davao for their annual event, DFAT (Davao Food Apprentice Tour) now MFAT (Mindanao Food Apprentice Tour), and Gensan Bloggers hosted by the Manansala Sisters of their first SOCCSKSARGEN Summer Safari.

I was pretty excited as this was my first time to join such events and would be my first time to set foot in Gensan. Our food and accommodation had been taken care of by the Manansala sisters and fellow Davao bloggers through the generous sponsors. These sponsors had been kind enough to feed us with their mouth watery and tasty food, and ICE (Ice Cream Experience) Castle Hotel for the kindness to keep us warm in Gensan. I would like to extend my appreciation to these people who made it happen:

  • Manansala Sisters: Orman and Avel:Bariles Republic’s GenSan News Online Mag – Thank you for a great trip (adventure alike and the food, accommodation in Gensan).
  • Davao Bloggers (Ria and Brendel) and Gensan Bloggers (Sheng)– Thank you for a warm welcome in Davao and Gensan.
  • Ranchero’s Grill in Tiongko Street, Davao City – Thank you for the mouth watery food. I love every food that you placed in the table but I love most the pinakbet and the ranchero ribs.
  • ICE Castle Hotel – Thank you for the accommodation. This is the only hotel that ICE CREAM built! The rooms are great and love the style of the toilet.
  • Pacman’s Sportbar – Thank you for the aperitif drinks and also the food. Got to see a lot of Pacquiaos’ Memorabilia.
  • Le Jardin Arnevel – Thank you for the mouth watery seafood. I enjoyed the tahong so much. I wasn’t able to taste it all but will surely try in my next visit.
  • Piyesta KTV Bar and Resto –Thank you for the drinks! I love the gayuma but haven’t tried the Jello. I wasn’t able to try the tuna buntot as I was full. Surely there would be a next visit for me in Gensan.
  • Dolores Garden Resort – Thank you for the breakfast! The place was great. The pool and Zoo was great for kids.
  • Punta Isla – Thank you for the Lunch and the entertainment from the Tivoli Tribe. I enjoyed the courting dance.
  • Rolee Bakeshop – Thank you for the snacks.
  • Merl Garden Spring Resort – Thank you for hosting the merienda and the tour around the resort.
  • Pacman H2O – for our water in Lake Sebu.
  • Red Tent Steakhouse – for our farewell dinner. I love your steak!
  • Cafe Amoree – for our coffee nightcap.

We are also grateful for Gensan’s Mayor, Mayor Jun Acharon, for our transportation and lechon. :)
